Surf In Shetland
Britain’s most Northerly surf spots are located in Shetland - 60 degrees North, the same latitude as Helsinki and Newfoundland.
Surf breaks can be found on Mainland Shetland and most of the outer islands.
There are a variety of beach, reef and point breaks to suit all abilities of surfers.
Shetland is exposed to swell from all directions throughout the year. 24 hour surfing is possible due to the long daylit summer months.
A good quality 5mm wettie, boots and gloves are essential all year round.
If you like to surf clear waters with no crowds and share a break with seals, otters, dolphins, whales or a friendly local then head to Shetland.
