Lerwick
Lerwick is the main town of Shetland and the centre of human activity. There is a local Tourist Office at the Market Cross with helpful and knowledgeable staff. Here you will find many shops, tourist boutiques and sellers of Shetland knitwear.
Studio 4 Hair at 5 Harbour St, is a great place to have a funky cut and colour while on holiday. The Peerie Shop Cafe on the Esplanade is a great place to have breakfast or lunch. The Peerie Shop is next door where you can buy some funky knitwear or jewellery, books and generally cool stuff.
The Hansel on Commercial Street also has some great things, as does Ninian on Commercial Street where you can buy local cards, knitwear and gifts. The Olive Tree in the Bolts Shopping Centre is another good place to Lunch with Mediterranean flavours and fresh produce, in the evening Monty's in Mounthooly Street would be a good place to have a special dinner. The Baptist Church is where we worship and finally the Clickimin Broch is a nice spot right in the middle of the Clickimin Loch.
There are also walking tours, storytelling nights and live music in many of the bars.
